Fractional Leadership & Staffing

Fractional Supply Chain Leadership

Senior supply chain leadership without a full-time executive hire. Summit places operators who have done the job before, for as long as the client needs them.

Summit leadership in conversation

The problem

The seat is empty and the plan cannot wait.

A leader departs, a program needs an owner, or the roadmap is approved with nobody senior free to carry it. A permanent hire is a six-month process, and the operation is making decisions in the meantime.

Summit places an operator who has held the comparable role: supply chain staffing services with the judgment of someone who has run the function, not a résumé match.

Capabilities

01

Fractional Executive Placement

An interim supply chain executive who can hold the seat, set direction, and make decisions from week one.

02

Business Analyst Support

Analytical horsepower for the modeling, reporting, and requirements work your team cannot absorb today.

03

Project and Program Management

An accountable owner for the program, from plan through the change management that follows it.

How placements work

Embedded leadership, on your terms

Fractional does not mean part-committed. The person we place carries the same accountability a permanent leader would, with a start date measured in weeks.

Embedded
Our placements work inside your organization and your cadence, not from the outside in.
Fast
We draw from a network of 100+ experienced supply chain advisors, so seats fill in weeks.
Flexible
Scope up during a program, scale back when it stabilizes, end when the client is ready.
Accountable
One named leader owns the outcome and reports to you, not to a staffing desk.

Why Summit

We place people we have worked beside.

Our advisors come from operating and technology roles across retail, ecommerce, wholesale, consumer products, healthcare, and food and nutrition. When a placement needs backup: a modeling question, a systems decision, or a second opinion. The rest of the Summit team is already behind them.

Common questions

What clients ask before the first call

How is a fractional supply chain executive different from a full-time hire?
You get senior operating experience immediately, scaled to the hours the problem actually needs, without a search cycle or a permanent headcount commitment. It suits organizations in transition: a departure to cover, a program that needs leadership, or a role you are not yet ready to fill permanently.
How long do fractional engagements run?
As long as the need lasts. Some are a defined program, others continue for as long as the client wants the seat filled. We do not require a long minimum commitment to justify the placement.
How quickly can someone start?
We draw on a network of more than 100 experienced supply chain advisors, so the search is a matching exercise rather than a recruiting campaign. Timelines depend on the specificity of the role, and we will tell you honestly if the profile you need will take longer to place.
What roles can you fill?
Fractional executive leadership, program and project managers, business analysts, and industrial engineering support. Placement can be leadership, analytical, or both.
Do placed advisors work on site?
Where the work requires it, yes. Distribution and implementation work often does. We agree the working model with you up front rather than defaulting to remote.
